Meme SDO threatens to shutdown shops, businesses that observe ghost town

The Senior Divisional Officer of Meme Division in the South West Region has said come Monday September 25, 2017, shops and other businesses in Kumba that respect ghost town will remain permanently sealed. Ntou’ou Ndong Chamberlin issued the threat on Tuesday September 19, while installing Safou Roger as the new Divisional Officer of Kumba l Sub Division. Safou Roger former Chief of Cabinet at the Littoral Governor’s office took over from Foumoumbot Duala Charles transferred to Tonga in the West Region in the same capacity.
In his welcome address, the Mayor of Kumba I Ebako Abel Ndoh said the transfer of Safou Roger to Kumba l is a new beginning that ushers in new change. Meticulously chronicling the sterling qualities of Foumounbot Duala Charles, Mayor Ebako Abel Ndoh appealed to the new D.O to walk in the footsteps of his predecessor. He also appealed to him to help tackle the perennial problems in Kumba l like epileptic electricity supply, fallen SONEL poles, hygiene and sanitation, water supply.
Ntou’ou Ndong Chamberlin in his speech congratulated Safou Roger for his new appointment before, saying that transfers, or appointments are routine and based on the whims and caprices of the Head of State. Safou Roger was appointed D.O. of Kumba l by Presidential Decree on September 4, 2017. After analyzing the decree of appointment, SDO Ntou’ou Ndong Chamberlin appealed to the new D.O carry out his duties in accordance with the text governing the appointment of D.Os.
He further appealed to him to enforce peace and security, ensure schools fully resume and to avoid being manipulated by some politicians and powerful elite
