The National Communication Council (NCC) has slammed three months suspension on La Metro, newspaper and its Publisher as well as one month suspension for L’ Anecdote newspaper and a reporter Martial Thadee Owona for publishing falsehood against the General Manager of Semme Mineral Water Mr. Seme Noungon that he owed a debt he could not pay and was arrested and detained.
After listening to the facts of the case, the two media houses were found guilty and suspended because the information they published was false and malicious. The decision was signed by the NCC President Peter Essoka on September 21, 2017 after the Council met in session.
The Star was misled by its reporter into carrying a similar article in one of its editions and with the outcome of the NCC finding, it is now abundantly clear that General Manager Mr. Seme Noungon is vindicated and not guilty.
We called on our numerous reads to respect the ruling of the NCC as the truth that has restored the image of the Semme Mineral Water General Manager Mr. Seme Noungou. Management advises The Star reporters to make sure information is well investigated before publication to avoid embarrassing business moguls in the likes of Mr. Seme Noungon.
