LECUDO Limbe agog as Chief Foanyi Nkemayang celebrates Five State Medals

The Chief Executive Officer of The Star Media House, Limbe, President of the Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA) Cameroon and Vice President of the Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA) Africa; HRH Chief Foanyi Nkemayang Paul, was last Sunday honoured by the Lebang Cultural and Development Organisation (LECUDO),Limbe in recognition of Five State Medals he has been decorated with between 2012 to 2017 by the State of Cameroon. He was decorated with the Knight of the Cameroon National Order of Valour in 2012, three Labour Medals of Gold, Silver Gilt and Silver in 2014 and the latest Officer of the Cameroon National Order of Valour on May 20, 2017.
Chief Foanyi Nkemayang was accompanied to the occasion by some of his notables and principally assisted by LECUDO Executive in Limbe and friends to give the occasion the grandeur if deserved.
Time was 3.30pm and savoring thesinging and dancing by LECUDO members in the presence of LECUDO Limbe, President Nkemleke Alexander, college of Notables and Kinsmen from Lebang Fondom.
As early as 1:30 pm, all routes leading to the LECUDO Limbe, hall in Mowoh Quarter were already crowded with people struggling to brave every odd before the official commencement of the programme.
The celebration of such a feat of achievements, of such a highly popular, courageous and fearless Chief Foanyi could not be otherwise, given that he has spent 33 long years of practice in the challenging profession of Journalism dedicatedly.
Introducing the event in his welcome address, LECUDO President Nkemleke Alexander revealed in the uniqueness of the event, stressing that it was the first time a Chief of Fontem origin based in the Region was so highly recognized by the State of Cameroon.
He also pointed out that the celebrated Chief is expected to be above board and rallying point of all citizens so as to improve on the development goals of LECUDO, Limbe, Nkemaleke said.
The LECUDO President said the recognition of the achievements of one of their own is customary, traditional, and legalbecause the celebrity has satisfied all legal provisions without legal encumbrances to be so highly honoured by the State.
On his part, erstwhile Police Commissioner and Adviser of LECUDO Limbe, Nkem Nkengasong Henry Nkafu, one of the closest allies of Chief Foanyi said he was very impressed by the State of Cameroon’s recognition of a hard working man who has spent numerous years informing, educating and entertaining the people without boundaries in the field of Journalism. He prayed God to continue to protect Chief Foanyi for better days ahead.
It is historical, the President of Bekem Lebang, in Limbe, Mbe Nkematem Martin said of the event,pointing out that it does not happen every day.He said it is normal for people to want to share in the glory of their Chief at such moments.
Opposite the rostrum where Chief Foanyi Nkemayang had mounted the exalted customized royal chair, symbolizing the throne, were placed traditional instruments for music from which famous drummers dished out thrilling tunes for dancers.

After the arrival of dignitaries, the programme was flagged off with an opening prayer bykinsman used in moments like this. The ushers, a select few, though not ace broadcasters, directed the activities with dexterity.
It should be recalled that Chief Foanyi Nkemayang was crowned by the Supreme Traditional Ruler of Lebang; HRM Fon Fontem Njifua in 2010, two years after he was crowned Osari Maribo by HRM Nfor TambeTakor of Besongabang in 2008.
This was after he founded The Star Media House in 1991.As Publisher, his dedication to work and burning optimism for a brighter tomorrow have resulted into what is today The Star Newspaper after kick-starting activities with The Star Headline, the year of creation.
Chief Foanyi Nkemayang Paul, according to ordinary people on the streets in Limbe, at home and abroad, is friendly and hospitable. “He is a great lover of his people but sternly fearless and easily very forgiving if you hurt him and show remorse.
He has once been Member of the National Communication Councilappointed by the Head of State Paul Biya and another time Founding Member and the National President of Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ)
Speaking to his kings men, Chief Foanyi Nkemayang thanked the Head of State Paul Biya and his close collaborators for the honour and invited all of them to accompany him to the Holy Family Parish, New Town Catholic Church on September 3, 2017 to thank and praise the Lord Almighty for the successes recorded this far.
Chief Foanyi Nkemayang is married with children.
