GTHS Limbe reaps benefits of Limbe Omnisport Stadium

-Gets FCFA 26 million in didactic materials

Didactic materials worth FCFA 26 million have been donated to Government Technical High School (GTHS) Limbe by MAG Sarl, one of the road construction companies working  at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.

The equipment donated were 16 ultra modern computers, two photocopiers, three welding plant, two generators and two filing machines.
Presiding over the September 22, 2016 event tagged’ MAG construction company in partnership with PEP-Africa donating computers and conducting HIV/AIDS awareness campaign at GTHS Limbe under the distinguished patronage of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. The exercise took place within the framework of the Limbe Omni sport Stadium construction work. The Divisional Officer for Limbe II Ndouga Emaran said the donation was true testimony of government’s commitment towards community empowerment. He reminded the students and the youth of his jurisdiction of the recently donated 500.000 laptops to University Students by the Head of State Paul Biya stating that the action of MAG Sarl falls in line with the vision. To him, the donation is a necessary support for technical education in Limbe II. The D.O. was keen to call on other companies involved in similar construction works to fulfill their duty with a sense of Corporate Social Responsibility in order to give a positive image to their work through the realization of social projects. He went on to instruct the Stores Accountant of the School to register the equipment donated as public property and urged the principal and staff to use them judiciously.
Earlier at the event, the College Principal Madame Esame said since the creation of the school in the year 2000, no donation of such magnitude had been done, reason why on behalf of the staff and the over 1000 students expressed deep appreciation to the company. She also used the occasion to highlight more needs of the school which include; portable water, posting of specialized teachers, the need for more infrastructures, and materials for workshop among others.
On their part, the representative of MAG Sarl Edouma Stephane thanked the President of the Republic for the confidence bestowed on Contractors in Cameroon. He advised the students to make maximum use of the equipments to improve on their academic performance.
It should be noted, the event also provided an opportunity for PEP-Africa a not for profit non-governmental organization to carry out awareness on sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. Going by the Country Director for PEP-Africa Melvine Wajiri, they were contacted to design activities to give back to communities around the Limbe Omnisport Stadium by the company MAG Sarl, thanks to their track record of projects which they have implemented across Cameroon. It is worth nothing that come Wednesday September 28, 2016 in Ngeme, MAG Sarl in partnership with PEP-Africa shall empower some 20 youths including groups financially to improve on their economic activities for a better livelihood.  Many have expressed joy and happiness over the gesture.
