Back-to-school: Limbe II Council donates didactic materials

Didactic materials worth close to FCFA 1M have been donated to five Primary schools in Limbe II sub division. The donation of the school items were done last Friday, September 9,2016 at the Limbe II council hall, during a ceremony chaired by the First Deputy Mayor of the Council, Molongo Francis Wongo.  limbe-ii-council
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony of the materials to the representatives of the five schools notably:GS Batoke, GS Mokundange, GS Botaland, GS Wovia and GS Mokunda, First  Deputy Mayor, said the gesture was in respect of the Minister’s decision to hand over the materials within August, but the means had not been made available; as such they had to struggle to ensure that these didactic materials are handed within the first week of school resumption. “the promotion of education is of first priority in our Municipality” Mayor Molongo Said. He went on to say that, despite the difficult times, the Limbe II council had respected its engagement to the schools and therefore called on the Head Teachers to use them judiciously” The materials are meant for school use and not for their personal homes,” he stressed. The first Deputy Mayor also took time to distribute lesson note-books, an innovation in terms of the quality of materials purchased.
On his part, the representative of the DO of Limbe II sub division, Collins Ngende, added his voice to the call made by the Council for the beneficiaries to put the items into effective use. He proposed that a follow-up mechanism be put in place to ensure effective utilization of the materials.
On behalf of the recipients, Tambi Clara Arah, the Head Mistress of GS Botaland, expressed gratitude to the Council Executive and assured them that they shall use them with much care for the advancement of the teaching and learning process in their respective schools for better results.
The didactic materials worth FCFA 909.000 consisted of: Lesson note books, schemes of work, attendance registers, stamp pads, boxes of chalk, rulers, paracetamol 500mg, black board renovation ink, card boards, among others. The donation of the didactic material ceremony was moderated by the S G Eposi Ashu, under the watchful eyes of the other dignitories of the Limbe II Council.
