The Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA) strongly condemns the murder of Indian Journalist and editor, Ms Gauri Lankesh, who was gunned down outside her home in Bangaluru on the evening of August 5, 2017.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) will release its report, “Journalists Not Terrorists: In Cameroon, anti-terror legislation is used to silence critics and suppress dissent,” on September 20.
Cameroonian authorities have used a broad anti-terror law, enacted in 2014, to arrest and threaten local Journalists who report on the militant group Boko Haram or unrest in the country’s English-speaking Regions. The Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA)-Cameroon has adopted the revised Articles of Association, Internal Rules and Regulations, agreed on Membership and Annual Dues and the template for CJA Press Card from UK, paving the way for the Elective General Assembly slated for October 29, 2016.
