Biya advocates peace in UN speech, fails to mention Anglophone problem

As English-speaking Cameroonians took to the streets in mass protests in the country with demonstrations at the United Nations on September 22, 2017 against marginalization and miss treatment, President Paul Biya mounted the podium at the United Nations in a speech that he failed to mention the Anglophone problem.

With school resumption in Kumba and other parts of Meme Division for the 2017/2018 academic year still timid most schools are now operating on “Campus B,” The Star has learnt.
The term Campus B refers to schools operating in concealment or in private homes. According to the Principals of one of the Mission schools in Fiango Kumba II Subdivision his school is operating on Campus B.

National Communication Council: New sanctions slammed on Media Organs, Journalists for breach professional ethics

Cameroon’s National Communication Council (NCC) has slammed sanctions on several Media Organs and Journalists for violating ethical rules and deontology of the Journalism profession in the country.
Meeting in its 18th ordinary session September 12, 2017 in Yaoundé, the Council examined 24 cases and petitions against ailing Journalists and their media organs.

Many Division in the South West Region once docile but now championing the Anglophone cause is now become restive and volatile. Youths in Ndekwai in Eyumojock Subdivision have threatened to desecrate tradition if their parents swear juju to enable schools to resume.

The South West Elite Association (SWELA) has appealed to President Paul Biya to release the rest of the Anglophone detainees held in various jails in the Cameroon.

The visiting Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mitsuhiro Furusawa has ended a three day working visit to the country.

A young girl detonated a suicide bomb in a mosque in the Far North region early Wednesday, killing at least five worshippers and wounding others in an attack bearing the hallmarks of Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
According to Far North Governor, Midjiyawa Bakary, the girl, about 12, entered the Sanda-Wadjiri mosque in Kolofata after the first call to prayer between five and six in the morning.
